untouchable
You sprawl; outwardly so relaxed.
I have no idea what goes on inside.
Are you an actor?
Do you portray this glad sense of ease so lightly on the outside
But contain something else within?
Do you wear the appearance of enjoying my company like simply another coat?
Are you a lobster? Forever and forever
Living in your shell
Fearful that to break your shell open would destroy you
Forever in your shell
I would like to know how sweet you are inside
If I were to label you
Would I be right?
I know the sound of your voice
Surely you are someone’s son, someone’s brother, someone’s colleague, someone’s friend
But to me you stand alone
Do you stand alone?
I don’t know you
You have no taste
I have a million words but none quite fit
You are so secret
So close
Untouchable.
